Birds Watching Tour (6 days) *

Thanks to a key position on north-south migration routes, the Baltic countries are a bird-watcher’s paradise. Each year, hundreds of bird species descend upon the region, attracted by fish-packed wetlands and wide-open spaces relatively devoid of people. White storks arrive by the thousands each spring, nesting on rooftops and telegraph poles through-out the region. Other annual visitors include corncrakes, bitterns, cranes, mute swans, black storks and all types of geese.   

 
Day one
Arrival to Vilnius. Travel to Klaipeda – the third largest city of Lithuania where the lagoon of Kursiai and the Baltic Sea joins together. This is also an ice-free seaport. Transfer to hotel. The excursion through the Old Town - which was distinguished for its German fachwerk architecture. The following objects that will be visited: the church of Saint Mother Maria, the Danes embankment – “Meridianas”, a statue to Simonas Dachas, the artists home street, the Theatre Square, the museum of Clocks, Lithuanian Sea Museum.

Overnight in hotel.

Day two

Breakfast. Travel to the regional park of Nemunas Delta – the unique place where the landscape is formed by water. It’s the park where rivers and lakes of different sizes entangle together. The Delta is famous because there are a lot of rare birds, and it’s also a resting place for the migrating birds. You will be given an opportunity to observe these wonders of the nature. Later on, we are going to visit the horn of Ventes where is the station of bird ringing and the museum. There is the main road of bird migrations in Lithuania which leads to the south Europe and to the South Africa.

Day three

Breakfast. Travel to Mosedis – the unique stone museum. The Orvydu farmstead – modern, sacral and mystic open air art museum. Travel continues to Palanga.- one of the most popular resort city. The treasure of Palanga is the Amber museum. There are more than 4500 amber handicrafts in the fifteen museum halls including amber inclusions, uniques and archeological findings. We also will visit the famous Bridge of Palanga and the central street of Basanavicius.

4-5-6 days

Breakfast. Tour continues to Neringa – the masterpiece of wind and the sea, very beautiful, unique land that nature has been creating for centuries. Objects to visit: Thomas Mann centre of Culture, the Lighthouse of Nida, Dead dunes, the national park museum of Kursiu Nerija, the Hill of Witches, the Dune of Parmidis and the Sun Watch – calendar. The view from the Dune of Parmidis will let you to enjoy the migration of birds. *A possibility to sail the ship and enjoy the masterpiece of sea and wind – Neringa.
