Vilnius – Riga - Saaremaa island – Tallinn

(Trip continues for 8d/7n)

1 day. Arrival at Lithuania. Settling in at the hotel. Excursion through ‘little Rome’ – Vilnius, capital city of Lithuania. Visiting: Gediminas castle, Cathedral, Vilnius University, one of the oldest Universities in whole northern Europe, Gate of Dawn – catholic sanctum, famous in whole Lithuania and abroad, also honored by other religions.

Stay at the hotel.

2 day. Breakfast. A journey to Kaunas – second in size city of Lithuania. On the way – a side trip to castle of Trakai. It’s the only castle in eastern Europe, built in the middle of the lake, a place of incredible natural beauty – Galvė lake. At the moment it is one of the biggest historical complexes in whole Lithuania. Later on – Kaunas old town, saturated with valuable cultural and architectural monuments: Kaunas castle – the oldest stone castle in Lithuania, built in the middle of XIV century, City Hall square – the most important architectural accent of old town, reminding of middle ages with it’s early gothic of Vytautas church and late gothic of ‘Perkūnas‘ (Thunder) house, Devils museum, M. K. Čiurlionis museum, St. Pranciškus church and Jesuit monastery.

3 day. Breakfast. A trip to Neringa – that masterpiece of wind and sea, a distinctive place of incredible beauty and uniqueness, for many centuries taken care of by human hand. Visiting: Thomas Mannas cultural center, Nida’s lighthouse, Dead dunes, Curonian Spit national park of nature, Witches hill, Parnidis Dune and sun clock-calendar. A cruise on boat, exploring magnificent sight of Curonian Spit from the sea.

Stay at the hotel in Klaipėda.

4 day. Breakfast. A trip to Rundalė castle – Latvia’s artwork of baroque style. Visit to the castle’s museum, garden and park, Latvia’s greatest monuments of baroque and rococo periods, currently reconstructed according to original author’s drawings. Excursion through the castle, visiting duke’s private apartments and luxurious halls. Evening arrival in Riga.

5 day. Breakfast. A cognitive trip through Riga’s old town – a center of German culture, and former residence of bishop. Riga’s old town is included in UNESCO list of the world heritage. The city itself is notably famous for its ample Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) architecture. Visiting: castle of Riga, defensive wall with Gunpowder Tower, Swedish Gate, Doma Cathedral, City Hall square with rebuilt “black-headed” guild houses, evangelical Lutheran cathedral, catholic churches. Evening arrival in Tallinn. Night excursion to Tallinn.

6 day. Breakfast. An excursion through capital of Estonia: Toompea castle, middle ages City Hall, evangelical Lutheran cathedral, Jacobin monastery, old artificers and “black-headed” guild’s houses, Fat Margaret’s tower and other towers on defensive wall. A trip to St. Brigitta’s monastery near Pirita. Stay at the hotel.
7 day. Breakfast. A journey to Virtsu and ferry transfer to Saaremaa island. Angla’s landmark windmills and Kali Meteorite Crater Lake. A trip to the settlement of Kuresar, which is famous for a bishop’s castle, built in XIII century. Return to Tallinn.
