Santorini is a Greek group of islands in the Aegean Sea and a part of the larger group of islands and prefecture Cyclades. It’s also called Thira, the capital is the town of Fira and it’s situated about 11 miles south of Ios and 68 miles north of Crete.
The legend of the lost civilisation of Atlantis is one of the most well known myths in the world, and a „popular” theory is that it is identical to the volcano island of Santorini. Was it Santorini that Plato was talking about some 2,300 years ago? No one knows – but what we do know is that Santorini is as wonderful as the paradise that he and other philosophers were describing already back in 360 B.C.
